New Zealand Should Not Invite Its Own Disaster

Date: 19/11/2021 | Source: Ministry of Foreign Affairs (EN) | Read original version at source

The New Zealand government recently announced that it would deploy again a Royal New Zealand Air Force P-3K2 Orion (P-3) aircraft to the waters around the Korean peninsula.

The New Zealand government has deployed the P-3K2 Orion (P-3) aircraft since 2018 in the name of supporting the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) sanctions on the DPRK. This year, it is deploying its patrol aircraft to the waters around the Korean peninsula for the second time following its earlier deployment in April.

In relation to this, Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand said that New Zealand is committed to supporting international efforts to maintain peace and security on the Korean peninsula. And the Defence Minister of New Zealand said that this P-3K2 deployment will help detect and deter actions that directly contravene United Nations Security Council sanctions on North Korea, such as ship-to-ship transfers of illicit material at sea.

The frequent flying of its patrol aircraft over the sensitive waters around the Korean peninsula is exerting bad influence on the military and political situation around the Korean peninsula, far from being conducive to ensuring the regional peace and security.

When it comes to the peace and security on the Korean peninsula which was mentioned by the New Zealand foreign policy chief, they are defended, from A to Z, by our own self-defensive capacity. The whole world saw its powerful capacity through the Defense Development Exhibition - Self-Defense 2021 held in October this year.

The New Zealand government should realize that it can never hide its true colors as the old vassal force of the U.S., just with the package of “cooperation for the maintenance of peace and security on the Korean peninsula” and “efforts to implement UNSC resolutions”.

Our people still remember that New Zealand followed in the footsteps of the U.S. to dispatch its troops to the Korean front during the last Fatherland Liberation War, and we are watching New Zealand very closely in joining the implementation of the UNSC “sanction resolution”, which is a product of the U.S. hostile policy cooked up to obliterate the sovereignty and the rights to existence and development of our nation.

Even one of the New Zealand mass media censured that the dispatch of patrol aircraft by its government is an inhuman act which deviates from “Kiwi” values.

The New Zealand authorities should wake up to the reality, lend an ear to the public voices and put an end to the foolish act of inviting its own disaster by following its master blindly.
