The entire Korean people and service personnel of the People's Army significantly celebrated the 79th anniversary of national liberation.
An endless stream of people visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the supreme temple of Juche where the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il are laid in state, on the occasion of the Day of National Liberation.
Working people, service personnel of the People's Army and school youth and children placed floral baskets, bouquets and flowers before the bronze statues and mosaic murals of the great leaders on Mansu Hill and different other parts of the country.
The visitors to the Arch of Triumph keenly felt that the liberation of the country was a historic victory brought by the grand programme of Kim Il Sung on great national unity and all-people resistance.
Lots of people visited the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong, the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in Sinmi-ri and the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery in Hyesan.
Officials, working people and youth and students in North Hamgyong Province and the city of Nampho made a study tour of revolutionary combat zones including the Sangdansan Revolutionary Battle Site and the Kuksabong Revolutionary Battle Site.
The flags of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea were hoisted at the institutions and enterprises across the country on the occasion of the Day of National Liberation.
Performances were given at theatres in Pyongyang to mark the 79th anniversary of national liberation.
And outdoor performances were given in different places of the capital city, adding to the festive mood.
Performances were also given throughout the country including South Phyongan, South Hwanghae, Kangwon and South Hamgyong provinces and the city of Nampho.
Public service amenities in the capital city and other parts of the country drew many people.
Working people and schoolchildren enjoyed themselves at the cultural recreation resorts in Pyongyang including the Central Zoo, the Natural History Museum and the Munsu Water Park.
