A Woman’s Excitement
Early last June, children at Kinmaul Kindergarten 1 in Moranbong District gave a performance on the occasion of the International Children’s Day. That day, many of their parents who watched the performance were so impressed.
In particular, Ri Myong Hui, residing in Neighborhood-unit No. 5 of Janghyon-dong in the district, was full of excitement. She felt as if she were dreaming. It was not until long ago that her granddaughter didn’t even dare to get out of the house. But she appeared in a dance program of the performance. In fact, her granddaughter could hardly move by herself owing to a congenital disease. So Ri hesitated to send her to the kindergarten.
Then, one day, the head of the kindergarten visited her and insisted on taking care of the granddaughter. Hence, the granddaughter Ri Se Yon became a kindergartener. The teachers tried their best to develop her intellectual power and improve her physical abilities.
Like this, Ri Se Yon got healthy and could take part in the performance as a dancer. Looking at her granddaughter dancing in a neat dress with a bright smile on her face, Ri said to herself that they could never live without the country in which there are no miserable people.
A Newly-wed Couple’s Song
One day in July, a couple got married in Onchon County under blessings of many people.
They were So Won Sik, a graduate of Kim Il Sung University who volunteered to work at the Kumdang Farm in the county, and Hyon Son Gyong, who came from the city to live with him.
They were so touched by the sincerity of many people who made preparations for their wedding and rendered warm congratulations.
Several months ago, the officials of the farm got to know that So was going to get married and decided to prepare a nice wedding for the couple with parental care.
The officials of the county also paid attention to the preparation of the wedding and household articles.
On the wedding day, So and Hyon sang aloud the song "We Are the Happiest in the World" with pride of living in the socialist system and a firm resolve to add beauty to this land.
