The Korean people love their country very much. The song “Ode to Motherland” is a typical example which clearly reflects their love of their country.
Idyllically starting with the verse Oh, beloved mother of mine helping me take my first steps , the song was created in September 2013 marking the 65th founding anniversary of the DPRK. As soon as it was released, it created a great sensation among the Korean people.
The song reflects their ardent love of and pride in the country vividly.
The verse “In this country we call home all our dreams come true” is particularly impressive.
Looking back, the proud course and history of the country and the happiness the people enjoy in its embrace are unthinkable apart from the painstaking devotion of the peerlessly great men who founded the country and developed and strengthened it.
President Kim Il Sung founded the glorious DPRK on this land where the people shed tears under the oppression by the Japanese imperialists and Chairman Kim Jong Il defended and developed it, regarding it as the most precious legacy of patriotism bequeathed by Kim Il Sung .
Today, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is building it into the most powerful country where the people’s ideals and dreams come into full bloom, true to the noble intentions of the President and the Chairman.
Over the past ten-odd years, so many monumental structures for the people have been built on this land under his wise leadership and the country’s prestige has risen up much higher.
He visited many factories, farms and construction sites to ensure the vigorous advance of socialism and bring about epoch-making transformations.
His devoted efforts, passion and love for the people is a great driving force which pushes the country on the road of building a socialist power and a source of inexhaustible strength which hastens the bright future when all the people’s dreams and ideals are realized.
The Korean people sing the “Ode to the Motherland”, saying unanimously that the leader is the hallmark of their wonderful country which makes one leap forward after another, full of youth vigour.
Up above us in the clear sky flies our red and blue national flag
In this country we call home all our dreams come true
That for eternity, we’ll always love you
