Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un University of National Defence, which has made distinguished contributions to bolstering up powerful self-defence capability of the DPRK while glorifying the proud history and tradition as a comprehensive defence science and technology educational base of the country in the long course of the revolution for realizing the great cause of building a rich country with strong army, is greeting its 60th founding anniversary with high pride.

Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, visited the university, the highest seat of training the Juche-oriented national defence sci-tech talents, on Monday to congratulate its teaching staff and students on its 60th founding anniversary.

All the teaching staff and students of the university and officials in the field of munitions industry and graduates of merits who visited their university, were full of great emotion and joy, having the greatest glory and happiness as they were to meet the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in the campus on the day marking its founding anniversary at a time when socialist Korea is demonstrating its dignity and reputation all over the world with its tremendous national defence capability rapidly growing stronger thanks to the Party's far-reaching plan for building a military power and its ever-victorious leadership ability.

When Kim Jong Un arrived, enthusiastic cheers were raised.

All the participants paid the highest glory and tribute to Kim Jong Un , the symbol of the mightiness and ever-victorious banner of Juche Korea who ushers in a new era of the greatest and dignified power in the history of the development of the DPRK with his iron faith, pluck, far-sighted wisdom and energetic and immortal leadership while regarding the self-reliant defence as the mainstay of defending and developing the revolution.

He received a salute from Colonel General Jon Il Ho, president of the university.

An educator and a student of the university presented bouquets of fragrant flowers to him in humble reverence.

He warmly congratulated the reliable teaching staff and students who are upholding the Party's far-sighted cause of building a military power with the steadfast revolutionary spirit, matchless scientific and technological capabilities and proud academic achievements at the university, the source of the inexhaustible self-defensive military capability firmly guaranteeing the mightiness and invincibility of the state.

He was accompanied by Jo Chun Ryong, secretary of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Jong Sik, first vice department director of the WPK Central Committee, Jang Chang Ha, director general of the Missile Administration of the DPRK, Ri Yong Gil, chief of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army, Jong Kyong Thaek, director of the KPA General Political Bureau.

Kim Jong Un made a historic speech in commemoration of his congratulatory visit to the university.

Saying that it is the great pleasure of the WPK and the people and an auspicious event of the whole country to mark the 60th founding anniversary of the supreme academy for national defence science and technology of the Republic, which was born with the most sacred and just mission and has glorified its name with proud merits and academic accomplishments that it made for the country and revolution, he warmly congratulated all the teachers, researchers, officials and students of the university on behalf of the WPK Central Committee and the government and all the armed forces of the Republic.

Clarifying the immutable truth that the university of national defence is the most precious strategic resource for the revolutionary party and people, he referred to the historic significance of the founding of the university which was born 60 years ago as a creation of the steadfast revolutionary will of the WPK to defend to the end the revolutionary gains won at the cost of blood by firmly hold fast to its destiny in its own hands and a crystal of its firm faith and ideal to provide an eternal guarantee for dignity and prosperity by bolstering its powerful strength, and to its proud history and remarkable feats.

Analyzing the real appearance and unchangeable nature of the imperialist aggressive entity with which the DPRK has been confronting and its ever-more frantic provocative acts, he proved the perfection and validity of the DPRK's logic of building self-defence capability that it should have physical strength capable of always deterring the enemy and keeping the situation under control. He solemnly declared that the WPK and the government of the DPRK would never allow the destruction of the balance of force on the Korean peninsula, but bring about continuous leap forward in defence science and industry and bolster up the war deterrent for self-defence limitlessly.

Underscoring the need to neutralize the imperialists' aggressive and adventurous military activities with absolute superiority of the Juche-oriented defence sci-tech capabilities, he set forth the main mission which the university should carry out in accomplishing an important historic mission and just cause of building a new world in which war, hegemony and injustice are not allowed by dint of the Juche-oriented weapons equipped with the might of revolutionary idea and the spirit of death-defying resistance, and important tasks for doing so.

Expressing the firm will of the Party Central Committee to successfully build the university into the highest seat where the revolutionary talents and world-famous inventors representing the future of the DPRK's munitions industry and national defence science are continually growing up and into a prestigious and famous national defence science research center, and to guarantee the eternal well-being and prosperity of the country, he expressed belief that all the teachers, researchers, students and graduates of the university would demonstrate forever the supremacy of revolutionary industry with a fruition of noble revolutionary spirit and educational development and excellent academic successes and powerful entities, bearing in mind the expectations of the Party, country and people.

When he finished his speech, the participants responded with cheers of single-minded loyalty, looking up to the great teacher who clarified the great strategy for struggle to firmly defend and glorify forever the ever-victorious prestige and honor of our state gained with the great revolutionary ideology and indomitable spirit and through precious struggle and has guided the scientists in the field of national defence science to the drive of breaking through the cutting edge in bolstering up the defence capabilities.

He extended militant greetings to the teaching staff, students and graduates full of high enthusiasm to firmly guarantee the Party's policy on national defence science with death-defying patriotic devotion, strenuous efforts and signal educational and scientific achievements by doubling the absolute sense of duty they have assumed before the Party, revolution, country and people.

He went round the room for education in the revolutionary history and the room dedicated to the history of the university.

He recollected with deep emotion the immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il who declared the establishment of the center for training talents of national defence science and technology for the eternal dignity and might of the Korean revolution in the first half of the 1960s when the historic advance of simultaneous development in economic construction and building of defence that becomes the embodiment of the WPK's idea of defending the country by self-defence started, and developed it into the national defence university with world prestige and reputation.

Saying that the proud history of the university which has produced more than 180 heroes of the Republic and labor heroes and tens of winners of the highest orders over the past 60 years is the epitome of the brilliant feats it performed by playing a core and pivotal role in accomplishing the historic cause of bolstering national self-defensive capabilities, he added that the legendary reputation of the university which has laid an ever-victorious cornerstone for the advance of the country with loyalty to the Party and the revolution and tremendous ability should flutter as a banner in the van of the struggle for securing the strongest military technological force in the world.

Noting that the present world in which the destiny of a country and a nation is decided by the strength of national-defensive muscle clearly proves that there is a sure guarantee for the existence of the state and its prosperity in systematically training a large contingent of talented personnel in the field of national defence science and technology who believe the validity of their cause and have ardent patriotism, he stressed the need for the university to train more revolutionary talents representing the future of the munitions industry and defence science directly related to the future destiny of the country and revolution and thus fulfill the important mission it has assumed before the times.

He repeatedly stressed the firm will of the Party to develop the university into one with the highest ability in the country and most prestigious research-type one in the world where the integration of education, scientific research and production has been realized on the highest level, and took benevolent measures for successfully sprucing up its educational conditions and environment in a comprehensive way as required by the new era.
