Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent a congratulatory message to Luong Cong, president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on Oct. 22.
The message said:
I extend warm congratulations to you on your election as president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Your assumption of heavy responsibility as the president of the state is an expression of the deep trust and expectation of the Communist Party of Vietnam and all the Vietnamese people.
Availing myself of this opportunity, I wish you success in your responsible work, expressing belief that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two parties and two countries would develop in conformity with the common socialist cause and the interests of peoples of the two countries.
