During his on-site inspection of the Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory in February 2015, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un provided it with detailed guidance over the formation plan for its renovation into a modern factory, which can be boasted to the world, and even designs of its emblem and trademark and took measures for the formation of powerful construction and scientific and technical forces and the supply of materials.
On his visit to the refurbished factory in October 2017, he set forth important tasks for the factory, including the one of increasing the production of different kinds of cosmetics that can compete head-to-head with world-famous ones, saying that cosmetics are one of the indispensable consumer goods in the people’s cultural life which improves with each passing day.
In the past seven years, the factory developed and produced over 530 cosmetics articles in 160 kinds. Among them are quality products made with Kaesong Koryo insam, the speciality of the DPRK, as the main raw material, such as foundation, lotion and ultraviolet-proof milk.
The hair-smartening cosmetics of the factory, including a dyeing shampoo with both dyeing and cleansing effects and a refreshing shampoo with a remarkable anti-dandruff effect, are gaining great popularity among people.
Based on the analysis of medicinal properties of raw materials in accordance with their mixing ratios and functions, the factory has also developed and produced skincare and aging-retarding products to suit the constitution and likings of the Korean people and has further increased the number of articles and varieties of perfumes, including those for cars, human bodies and rooms.
Their products were highly appreciated in different shows like the national cosmetics exhibition and registered as February 2 products and 30 out of them won the quality certification of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The workers of the factory say the local women will get more beautiful as much as they put efforts into the development of new products and the improvement of quality.
