The entercavir tablets produced by the Yangchun Chemist’s enjoy popularity among health experts and consumers for their distinctive efficacy for treating hepatitis B.
Hepatitis B, an obstinate disease, comes as one of the challenges facing the global health sector. If not treated in time, the disease will accelerate the degeneration and necrosis of the liver cells. Connective tissues will grow fast in the affected cells to turn fibrous. They will gradually harden themselves to cause cancer in the end, endangering lives.
According to studies, entercavir is the strongest in antiviral properties and the lowest in tolerance rate among the antiviral medicines against hepatitis B. That’s why the WHO designated it as the first choice for hepatitis B treatment.
As it is structurally akin to guanosine that constitutes the nucleic acids of hepatitis B virus, entercavir interferes with the nucleic acid synthesis of viruses during their replication and thereby check their growth.
As a result, it helps lower the seroenzyme unit and prevent the fibrous development of the liver cells. In particular, it prevents the vertical transmission of hepatitis B virus from the pregnant women, who react positive to the viral antigen test, to their unborn babies. It is also effective for treating the hepatitis cases with tolerance to lamivudine.
The medicine was developed through years of research and its superiority to imported one in medical efficacy and safety was confirmed through several stages of clinical test. According to the clinical test, the number of hepatitis B virus was remarkably reduced in DNA determination after three to six months of the use of the medicine.
The entercavir tablets have been listed in the eighth, supplemented edition of Korean Pharmacopoeia.
