The open-air ice rink in the centre of the capital city of Pyongyang is filled with laughter of people.
Those skating full of joy and optimism are in good harmony with a distinctive night view made by outdoor lighting.
Some people are running on the ice with elegant rhythmic movements to the tune of music. On the contrary, some are learning how to skate under the guidance of instructors.
A man laughs a merry laugh as he lost balance and fell down after skating some distance in high spirits. Some young people run into one another and fall down. Cute children are also seen laughing a hearty laugh on coloured sleighs.
All are skating with a smile on their faces.
Looking at the happy people spending a pleasant time at the open-air ice rink, instructor Ko Jong Sim says:
"This time, we have made a new lighting decoration as well as night illuminations so that the visitors can spend a good time and secured a lot of skates for ice figure skating, ice hockey and speed skating. As you see, more than 1,000 people are enjoying themselves here today."
The open-air ice rink draws a lot of people as if inviting them to happiness of morrow. The people's delight and optimism on the ice represent our life filled with the daily-growing joy and happiness.
