The international situation in 2024 showed that however hard they may try, the imperialists can never turn back the trend of history towards independence and justice.
Niger, Chad and other African countries took resolute measures to make the US and France pull their troops out of their territories.
Demonstrations and uprisings took place against the US and the West in different parts of the continent.
African countries’ “friendly ties” with the US and Western countries resulted in violations of sovereignty, interference in internal affairs, coups, severe ethnic and sectarian conflicts and clashes, prevalence of terrorism, drainage of natural resources, economic exploitation, widening wealth gap, and loss of language and other traditional cultures in those countries.
They drew such a lesson that dependence on the US and the West leads to colonial subjugation, confusion and downfall.
Countries in Asia, Latin America and other parts of the world undauntedly struggled against the US and the West, denouncing their intervention in their internal affairs and their attempts to instigate “colour revolution.”
Moves to replace the US-led international order with a new one gained momentum.
As the double-dealing US exercised veto in the UN Security Council, the UN’s authority was badly affected and vital issues concerning peace failed to be settled, which was evidenced by some facts last year.
What struck fear into the US and the West as well as their lackeys last year was that the DPRK and the Russian Federation concluded and brought into effect the Treaty on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The treaty, which was adopted coinciding with growing risks of nuclear war in Northeast Asia and Europe, lays a legal foundation for building a fortress to maintain peace and security in the Eurasian continent.
The sinister scheme to establish in Eurasia the American-style security system that will bring only war and confrontation has been finally thwarted, and a new security mechanism geared to keeping genuine peace has been put in place. This has provided a firm guarantee for safeguarding global peace and security.
The confrontation-oriented strategy of the US and its followers bent on driving the world towards a new world war is doomed to failure.
Though the international situation is increasingly extreme, it can never halt the vigorous advance of history along the road of independence.
