A ceremony of bidding farewell to the late Hwang Jin Yong, Kim Il Sung Prize Winner, Labour Hero and People's Artist, was held at the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in Sinmi-ri of Pyongyang on the 26th.
Hwang Jin Yong grew to be a famous composer and musician of talent loved by the people under the utmost care of the great leaders. He wrote hundreds of songs of the great Workers' Party of Korea, the most superior socialist system of Korea and the spirit of the times vibrant with a new life wonderfully as those of national treasure for nearly 40 years, making a great contribution to the development of the Juche-based musical art.
Present at the ceremony were Ju Chang Il, Department Director of the Central Committee of the WPK, officials, creators, artistes in the field of culture and art and bereaved families of the deceased.
Jang Ryong Sik, Deputy Department Director of the Central Committee of the WPK, made a condolatory address.
A ceremony of interring the remains of the late Hwang Jin Yong was held.
A wreath sent by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was placed at the tomb.
The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the late Hwang Jin Yong.
