Pyongyang, February 15 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang Secondary School No. 1 in the DPRK, renowned as a reliable base for training talents, is greeting its 71st founding anniversary.
President Kim Il Sung saw to it that Pyongyang Secondary School No. 1 was founded on February 15, 1954. He took meticulous care of the students' study and life and paid deep attention to the work of the school while teaching in detail the problems arising in improving the educational work,.
Chairman Kim Jong Il made sure that a new modern school building was built in an excellent location on the bank of the Pothong River and led the school to successfully perform its mission and duty as a base training talents.
The school could have recorded a more proud history under the wise guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who is glorifying the DPRK as a country of education and a talent power true to the noble intention of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il .
Penetrating deep into the importance of Pyongyang Secondary School No. 1 in developing the country's education of talents, Kim Jong Un sent modern educational equipment and articles for cultural use to ensure that the school fully plays the vanguard role in bringing about radical improvement in education in the new century.
During the days when the school has been engaged in the campaign of brains and intelligence, true to the Workers' Party of Korea's idea of attaching importance to education, the school was awarded Order of Kim Il Sung , won the title of the Thrice Honored Red Flag School and produced many Labor Heroes, winners of Kim Il Sung Youth Honour Prize and Kim Jong Il Youth Honour Prize, People's Teachers, Merited Teachers and winners of the title of ten best teachers.
