Pyongyang, March 3 (KCNA) -- Ten best agricultural counties and 30 best farms for 2024 were selected in the DPRK recently.
Amid the great enthusiasm for scientific farming and high-yield competition growing in the new era of rural rejuvenation, more regions and units have registered remarkable successes in producing grains and laying a sustained growth foundation.
This exciting reality makes the DPRK people look back with deep emotion on the devoted efforts made by the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un to develop the country's agriculture.
At the major meetings held after the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, the General Secretary took all necessary measures for the country's agricultural development.
He advanced the tasks for boosting the grain production such as the issues of decisively improving the people's diet through a change in the grain production structure, giving positive support to the agricultural sector through general mobilization of the whole Party, the entire country and all the people and providing farms with more efficient and new farm machines badly needed for the modern and advanced agricultural production.
At the Ninth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth WPK Central Committee, he called for setting out a clear strategy and a stepwise goal to develop farm machines on the basis of survey and estimation of the country's overall agricultural infrastructure and agricultural technical force, pushing ahead with the mechanization of agriculture and perfecting the irrigation system of the country.
All the people say with excitement that the said vital guidelines are associated with the tireless thinking and efforts of Kim Jong Un to put the agricultural production on a stable track of development and solve the food problem of the country.
Thanks to his energetic leadership, irrigation water flows into farm fields in some regions where there was a shortage of water in the past, and modern home-made farm machines are used in every farm field of the country. -0-
