This year online education has been riding a high tide of enrollment across the country.
An increasing number of working people apply for different online courses given by Kim Chaek University of Technology.
The online education faculty of the university has taken measures to enrich the database so that students can acquire a wide range of expertise and technology and to further promote lectures on request and real-time Q&A session.
The online courses embrace metallurgy, mechanical engineering, automation, heat engineering and electric engineering, with the number of the applicants reaching tens of thousands.
The enrollment is also on the increase for the online course given by Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry.
According to the dean of the online education faculty, hundreds of people who are set to work at regional-industry factories to be built this year are additionally receiving online education, a tendency showing signs of growth.
The faculty explores and introduces effective ways for real-time Q&A session and sci-tech workshop held every week, while providing online lectures in various ways by bringing the training curriculum close to the workplaces and giving wide publicity to inventors.
Employees at the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Silk Mill, the Pyongyang Children’s Foodstuff Factory and many other units are acquiring special knowledge suited to their units and occupations online.
Agricultural workers are also eager to study online at universities of agriculture around the country.
More than one hundred primary-level officials of almost all farms in Anju were enrolled online at Sukchon University of Agriculture by January this year, and many agricultural workers in Sariwon started their online courses at Sariwon Kye Ung Sang University of Agriculture from this year.
Online education at different universities in the capital and provinces is open to working people in many regions and units across the country.
