Recently, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China expressed strong condemnation over the statement issued by the U.S., UK, Germany and EU in regard to the repatriation of more than 40 Chinese nationals (Uyghurs) who had illegally entered Thailand, calling for the guarantee of their human rights.
He said that China firmly opposes interference in internal affairs under the pretext of human rights and disruption of normal law enforcement cooperation between countries in the name of Xinjiang-related issues.
Certain countries and international organizations have distorted facts and groundlessly criticized the normal law enforcement cooperation between China and Thailand, he added, saying that they are concocting and peddling these false accusations against Xinjiang while politicizing this issue.
The spokesman ended by stressing that China will continue to work together with respective countries to jointly respond to challenges caused by transnational crimes such as illegal entry and protect the legitimate rights and interests of the people going in and out of the country in conformity with the law.
