Pyongyang, March 20 (KCNA) -- Preparations for rearing silkworms in spring are brisk in Jagang Province of the DPRK. The provincial rural economy committee has organized a passing-on technique conference and show on manuring of mulberry fields and a workshop on the production of silkworm eggs, while taking measures for the supply of such farming materials as fertilizer, disinfectant, nutrient solution and sprayers. Huichon City and Songgan and Kophung counties finished the trimming of mulberries ahead of schedule and Chosan and Sijung counties over-fulfilled their plans for producing and transporting self-sufficing manure. The Songwon County Sericulture Station built slaked lime production bases and has boosted the production. Huichon and Jasong sericulture seed stations have made preparations for supplying healthy silkworm eggs to cocoon production units by putting storing of silkworm eggs on a sci-tech basis.
