Three months have already passed since the start of the construction of the largest-ever modern greenhouse farm and vegetable science research centre in Hadan-ri, Sinuiju, and Soho-ri, Uiju County, North Phyongan Province.
The greenhouse farm is the fourth of its kind following the Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm (in 2019), Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm (in 2022) and Kangdong Combined Greenhouse Farm (in 2024).
On December 21 last year when he attended the inauguration ceremony of modern cultured rural town built in the Sinuiju area in North Phyongan Province after removing the aftereffects of severe flooding, he announced a plan for building the two facilities for bringing about a greater change in the area. Then he personally dispatched construction forces for the project.
“It is surprising that such a beautiful cultured rural town has been built in a matter of several months in the bleak place,” said Jo In Guk, a worker at the Hadan urban management station in Sinuiju. “Just imagine we would have the modern largest-ever greenhouse farm and vegetable science research centre. I am very grateful to our Party for effecting such wonderful changes and feel convinced that the day we will lead a happier life is near at hand.”
Ri Hak Son, head of a workteam of the Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm of the North Hamgyong Provincial Rural Economy Committee, said: I was much surprised to hear the news that a 450-hectare greenhouse farm would be built in Sinuiju. I have thought our greenhouse farm is fairly large. But as it is several times as small as the 450-hectare greenhouse farm to be built, it is quite easy to imagine how large the latter would be. I have keenly realized once again how high our Party’s ideal for the people is.
The 450-hectare greenhouse farm and vegetable science research centre will offer another glimpse of the higher stage and development of the regional and rural rejuvenation which the WPK has in mind.
