Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made public his famous work "On Improving Secondary General Education" on June 10, 2012.
The work serves as a milestone which enabled to put the overall level of secondary general education of the country onto a new higher stage in conformity with the realistic requirements of the development of education and the world trend of development and an immortal great programme that ushered in a new era of the development of the Juche-oriented education.
The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un in the work comprehensively clarified the importance and main task of the secondary general education and the principled issues arising in putting the education of the country on a new high stage by decisively strengthening the secondary general education.
True to the important tasks set forth in the work, great progress has been made in the work to decisively improve and strengthen the secondary general education for over ten years.
A new history of universal 12-year compulsory education was opened, the contents of secondary general education have been updated, and effective and superior educational methods created and generalized to enable students to more deeply grasp and apply new and useful knowledge.
Many school buildings have been newly erected, remodeled and repaired, classrooms have turned into the multi-functional ones, experimental and practical apparatuses have been fully provided in experimental and practical training rooms and the whole course of teaching and experiments and practical training put on a modern and IT basis.
Universities of education and teacher training colleges have been newly turned into pedigree farms for the rising generation which train competent teachers possessed of versatile and comprehensive knowledge, practical abilities and excellent education methods.
All the people have turned out in the work to improve the educational conditions and environment in the mind of parents, thus consolidating the material foundations of education.
