Among the eye-catchers at the 23rd Pyongyang Spring International Trade Fair held in May were Ragwon-brand women’s dresses.
A good combination of light and soft colours and stylish and elegant designs drew the attentions of the visitors.
Those were from the Phyongchon Ragwon Garment Manufactory.
Despite the manufactory’s short history of only several years, the brand Ragwon made its debut at the Spring Women’s Garment Show-2023 two years ago.
The manufactory won a team prize at the national exhibition.
Among those on display was an overcoat in the form of a suit. Unlike conventional way of designing, the new overcoat presented by Ji Un Suk in charge of the manufactory is characterized by adjusted width and refined neckline and sleeves. It was awarded the top prize at the show and rated as one in the greatest demand.
The garment makers give top priority to creating new designs.
Everyone including manager, cutter, tailor and salesperson is eager to produce a good idea. If they come across any, they immediately present it for discussion and deliberation.
They pay major attention to creating novel and unique styles rather than repeating or imitating old ones in design.
In particular, they attach importance to details. They try to make a certain particular part of clothes attractive and choose relevant materials to that end.
This year, too, they have created and introduced several new designs.
A cream one-piece dress with pleated waist and slightly open sleeve and a two-piece with mesh sleeves and skirt pockets sustain refreshing and refined qualities.
After trying on the clothes made by the manufactory on order, customers say that they were made to their liking and that they can see the makers devoted effort to every line, pleat and ornament.
Now an increasing number of customers visit the manufactory.
