Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Friday in an editorial says that the Enlarged Meeting of the Twelfth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea is of great significance as it discussed and decided key issues in the struggle for strengthening and developing our Party and state.
The plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee is a significant one which clarifies the guidelines for successfully fulfilling the five-year plan and further strengthening the independence and development potentials of the state economy, the editorial says, and goes on:
The plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee unanimously approved to convene the Ninth Congress of the WPK, another important watershed in the course of the development of our Party and revolution, and decided on the essential issues arising in improving the fighting efficiency and activeness of the basic Party organizations as required by the line of Party building in the new era.
Only when the tasks set forth by the plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee are carried out thoroughly, will the 80-year history of leadership of our Party, which has written the longest history as a socialist ruling Party, shine more brilliantly and another historic milestone be recorded at the stage of the development of Korean-style socialism.
Whether or not we consolidate the successes made in the struggle over the past four years and six months and dynamically advance the socialist cause of our style depends on what fighting spirit and traits we work with in the remaining 180-odd days.
All the people should turn out in implementing the decision of the Twelfth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK with more heightened and elated spirit, thus ushering in a full-scale prosperity of our great state.
Let us all make more courageous, effective and intensive efforts to carry out the five-year plan set forth by the Eighth Congress of the WPK with the confidence in sure victory and thus show the world once again what miracles Juche Korea will perform under the leadership of the great Party Central Committee. -0-
