The respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un, endowed with love for children, unsparingly spends his precious time for schoolchildren.

In 2012, he attended the joint national meeting of the Korean Children’s Union organizations held on the occasion of its 66th founding anniversary, though he was so busy with state affairs.

In his congratulatory speech, the fatherly Marshal affectionately called schoolchildren the “beloved Children's Union members” and wished them a bright future. He watched a concert together with the young delegates and, in the evening, saw the beautiful fireworks display with them. After the meeting, he moved to 20 places to have photos taken with them.

Referring to the Korean children shouting "Hurrah!" looking up to the respected fatherly Marshal while shedding tears of joy and gratitude, a foreign media outlet said:

“We have seen many adults in the DPRK welcoming their leader in tears at every event, but it is the first time we saw children welcoming him so enthusiastically. Indeed, the country regards the people as God and the children as king. The DPRK celebrates children’s holiday flying even the flag of the ruling party and the national flag in the streets. Such a country can be found nowhere else in the world.”

The fatherly Marshal spends his precious time for children also on his field guidance tours.

One May day in a year, he visited the Pyongyang Municipal Myohyangsan Mountain-climbing Children’s Camp on his inspection tour. He asked the officials where all the campers went.

Upon hearing the answer that the campers were to come down the mountain at about 5 pm, he said that they would be very disappointed if he left without meeting them and having a photo taken with them, adding that he would meet them no matter how busy he was.

That day, the children who met him unexpectedly and had a photo taken with him were so overjoyed and excited that they could not sleep all night.

The respected fatherly Marshal, who ensured that the Songdowon International Children's Camp was renovated into a splendid hotel and palace for children, spent the whole day with children on its inauguration day, while seeing even a schoolchildren’s football match in the playground of the camp.

Two years ago, he saw to it that all the schoolchildren in the areas that suffered unprecedented flood damage stayed in Pyongyang until the rehabilitation campaign would be completed and that a favourable educational environment was provided at the April 25 Hostel where they stayed. When he personally visited the hostel, he watched a demonstration lesson for the pupils and saw them rejoicing over new school uniforms and school things, describing the children’s laughter as the powerful breathing and vibrant spirit of the advancing country and a symbol of the mightiness of Korean-style socialism.

Indeed, the future of the country is getting brighter as he spends his precious time for children.
