The section chief of the External Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea released the following press statement “The U.S. frantic anti-DPRK ‘human rights’ conspiratorial campaign will only highlight a total bankruptcy of its policy toward the DPRK” on October 13:

The U.S. pressure campaign against the DPRK over its “human rights” has reached a reckless stage to tarnish the image of our dignified state and justify its illegal hostile policy toward the DPRK.

Recently, the “human rights envoy” and the roving ambassador in charge of international criminal and judicial affairs of the U.S. Department of State invited the authorities of the puppet ROK and all shades of “human rights” organizations to a confab in Seoul for breeding a “human rights” plot against our state. Earlier, a high-ranking official of the U.S. Department of State staged a “human rights” conspiracy in the UN arena together with those from vassal countries.

Notably, the “human rights envoy” of the U.S. Department of State asserted that “access to information, including information about religion, is a key pillar of the U.S. policy toward the DPRK, thus acknowledging that the goal of the current U.S. administration’s policy toward the DPRK is to overthrow its ideology and social system.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK strongly denounces and rejects the “human rights” harp of the U.S., the world’s worst human rights violator, as a wanton violation of the dignity and sovereignty of our state and a grave political provocation.

Now the U.S. undisguised attempts to overthrow social systems of other countries and moves to interfere in internal affairs behind the signboard of “human rights” have become the root cause of fomenting political disorder and armed conflicts and causing massacres of civilians across the world. This substantiates the fact that the “human rights” campaign and “access to information” committed by the U.S. are indeed the most serious threat to global peace and stability.

The U.S. administration resorts to its mean and clumsy act to “decorate” its lame duck period with foul anti-DPRK “human rights” campaign. This affords us a chance to see clearly the inner world of the White House which is frustrated with the stark reality of its Korea policy which has gone structurally collapsed and politically bankrupt.

The U.S. should be aware that its futile “human rights” racket will only further highlight the true colors of its failed policy of “denuclearization”.

Steadfast is our determination and will to firmly defend our national sovereignty, political system and wellbeing of the people politically, physically and legally, coping with the U.S. and its followers’ ever-aggravating anti-DPRK “human rights” moves.

The DPRK will mercilessly eliminate any objects and elements posing a threat to its sovereignty and security and continue to take practical steps to defend the rights and interests of its people by relying on its great power.

This will inevitably bring earlier the reality that the U.S. may not wish to see and is most afraid of.
