The Korean People’s Army always plays a pivotal and leading role in the drive to carry out far-reaching plans of the Workers’ Party of Korea to provide the Korean people with a more affluent and cultured life.

In 2012 the KPA soldiers completed the gigantic Hapjang River improvement project in a matter of six days and the dredging and improvement project of the Pothong River and its embankments in nine days. They built more than 10 parks furnished with facilities for sports and amusement and welfare services. All the projects were performed in the DPRK’s capital of Pyongyang.

They also created the Masikryong Speed, a new speed of construction of the 21st century, while building a ski resort on Masik Pass, and built a modern recreational ground and a water park on Rungna Islet in the capital city, thus turning the islet into a comprehensive and multi-functional cultural resort.

The soldiers fully displayed the mettle of struggle and creation unique to the KPA in the major construction projects such as Ryomyong and Mirae Scientists streets, Wisong Scientists Residential District, Yonphung Scientists Holiday Camp, Sci-Tech Complex, Natural History Museum, Central Zoo and Yangdok Hot Spring Resort.

The Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, workers’ hostel of the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill, Mirim Riding Club, Samjiyon Theatre and many other monumental edifices that represent the socialist civilization bear the imprints of their tireless devotion and efforts.

Upholding the slogan “Forward for the wellbeing of our great people” as an element of their faith, they built a world-class integrated greenhouse farm in Pyongyang’s Kangdong area in a year after they finished similar projects in the areas of Jungphyong and Ryonpho.

The new streets built in Pyongyang every year along with the new era of Pyongyang prosperity are all associated with the feats of soldier-builders. They stand in the vanguard of the campaign to implement the Regional Development 20×10 Policy designed to eradicate the centuries-old backwardness of regions and realize the desires of the local people.

They also performed their noble mission and duty in the creative struggle to address the misfortunes of the people caused by natural disasters as soon as possible.

In 2015 and 2016 heavy flood hit Rason and the northern part of North Hamgyong Province respectively. In the efforts to rehabilitate the areas, the KPA soldiers took up the most uphill tasks, thus turning the areas into fairylands in the era of the Workers’ Party.

In 2020 Kumchon County’s Kangbuk-ri and Unpha County’s Taechong-ri, both belonging to North Hwanghae Province, fell victim to natural calamities. However, the areas were completely facelifted by the heroic struggle of the revolutionary army which is equipped with the noble outlook of the Party that there is no issue more pressing than removing the people’s sorrows and more important than relieving them of misfortune.

In the military parade held to celebrate the 75th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea on October 10, 2020, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said: No one could reflect on their patriotic and heroic devotion by the KPA service personnel on the disaster relief fronts without shedding tears of gratitude. The tasks they have undertaken are too many and the pains they have gone to, too great.

The appearance of modern rural dwelling houses in the flood-hit areas of North Phyongan, Jagang and Ryanggang provinces last year is another example showing the strenuous efforts the KPA soldiers made from summer to winter, overcoming all sorts of obstacles in their way.

Under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un who bestows deep trust and love on them and puts them forward as pioneers of transformation for the country and people, the heroic KPA soldiers continue to do their part in the huge construction projects to attain the overall development of the Korean-style socialism.
