In our society all the working people ceaselessly perform miracles and innovations, full of pride and delight.
This reality is unthinkable apart from the socialist system and the popular socialist law providing the people with all conditions so that they can enjoy happy life while doing creative labor at stable and cultured worksites without any worry about jobs.
The Socialist Labour Law of the DPRK was adopted in April 1978, which is the labour charter letting the working popular masses fulfill their responsibility and role as master of the country and the genuine people’s law legally guaranteeing superiority and vitality of our socialist labour system.
According to the socialist labour law, all the citizens have duty to take part in labour and right to it.
Article 14 of the socialist labour law says that it is the citizens’ honor and the most sacred duty to love labour and honestly take part in labour and the citizens should voluntarily take part in the worthwhile labour for socialist and communist construction.
According to the socialist law, 17 years old people can do labour and the state bans the child labour.
The working day is eight hours. The working day may be seven or six hours according to its hardship and peculiar conditions. The working day of the women who have three or more children is six hours.
Those who performed labour feats in the socialist construction are awarded the title of the Labour Hero and other honorary titles and official commendations.
The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un had a photo taken with ordinary labour innovators and persons of merit at the headquarters building of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea on the occasion of the New Year 2025. This fact proves that the socialist motherland DPRK which holds in high esteem the ordinary working people is the genuine people’s country.
