The General Association of Koreans in China held events to celebrate the 83rd birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il.
On February 15, officials and members of the GAKC, the Association of Korean Women in China and the Jilin City branch of the Jilin Regional Association under the GAKC and the family of Hwang Paek Ha, a Korean in China related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and the family of a former vice chairperson of the Jilin Provincial Association laid floral baskets before the statue of President Kim Il Sung at Yuwen Middle School in Jilin and paid tribute to him.
Floral baskets in the name of the GAKC, the Zhongnan Regional Association of the GAKC and the Dandong City branch of the Liaoning Regional Association of the GAKC were placed before the portraits and pictures of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il at the DPRK embassy in Beijing and DPRK missions in Shenyang and Dandong on Feb. 16.
A meeting to adopt a congratulatory letter to the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un took place on Feb. 15.
The General Association of Koreans in China held a meeting celebrating the 83rd birth anniversary of Kim Jong Il in Shenyang on February 16.
Present there were Chairwoman Choe Un Bok and other officials of the GAKC, officials of the Federation of Korean Economic Workers in China, the Association of Young Korean Nationals in China, the Liaoning Regional Association of the GAKC and Korean citizens of the Shenyang City branch.

She said that Kim Jong Il, who was born as the son of the guerrillas in Mt Paektu, the holy mountain of revolution, made ceaseless high-intensity forced march all his life with his great ideal and firm faith to build the DPRK into a socialist power with strong defence capabilities that no aggression forces dare to invade, and performed the great exploits to remain long in the history of the country.
She said that thanks to the seasoned leadership of the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, a new era of comprehensive national rejuvenation for realizing the people’s ideals has been opened up in the motherland to stun the world people and the first entities of regional rejuvenation have appeared in different parts of the country to instill confidence in the sure victory of the revolution of regional development into the mind of the people.
Then followed a celebration performance.
Meanwhile, the Changbai County branch of the Jilin Regional Association of the GAKC and other affiliated organizations watched the meeting and celebration performance by the GAKC through videos and had colorful celebration events.
