A meeting took place in Beijing, China, on February 14 in celebration of the 83rd anniversary of the birth of Chairman Kim Jong Il.
Present there were families of those related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, personages of various units of China including the Association for International Friendly Contact, the DPRK ambassador to China and staff members of his embassy.
The participants laid a basket of flowers before the portraits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and made a bow to them.
Speeches were made there.
Zhou Wei, daughter of Zhou Baozhong, Feng Songguang, son of Feng Zhongyun, Yu Ming, son of Li Zade, Yue Zhiyun, daughter of Zhang Wei-hua's daughter, and Shang Xiaowei, son of Mentor Shang Yue, praised Kim Jong Il as an outstanding leader who made an immortal contribution to the Korean revolution, the world socialist cause and the development of the DPRK-China friendly relations.
They stressed that the exploits of Kim Jong Il who led the Korean people to advance along the road of glory without fear of ordeals and difficulties will be kept deep in the mind of progressive mankind.
They referred to the loving care and favour shown by Kim Jong Il for the families of those related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and expressed deep yearning for him.
They affirmed that the desire of President Kim Il Sung and General Kim Jong Il will surely be fulfilled and the socialist cause of the DPRK will win a great victory thanks to Comrade Kim Jong Un, and sincerely wished the DPRK prosperity and its people happiness.
