On 6th April 2025, the 31stPyongyang International Marathon will be held in Pyongyang, the capital city ofDPR Korea.
This marathon with a long history of over 30years since 1981 is well known and prestigious as an annual event which is heldevery April in celebration of 15th April, the most auspiciousholiday in DPR Korea.
The Colorful Opening and Closing Ceremoniesheld in KIM Il SUNG Stadium located at the foot of MoranHill in historic Pyongyang are the one and only highlights worldwide that makesthis Marathon a festival beyond a game.

4.Participation
1)Participants
― As of 30thOctober 2024, any Male or Female Elite Marathoner who has achieved thefollowing record standards is qualified to participate in this Marathon.
― TheOrganizing Committee will invite 1 male,1 female athlete and 1 official per country, provided that the submittedpersons meet the above-mentioned record standards and accordingly send OfficialInvitation Letters by Name by 20th January 2025.
2) Hospitality Package

― The Organizing Committee will reimburse the airtickets purchased by the invited persons themselves.
Forreimbursement of the tickets, the invited persons should send Flight Itineraryand fees to LOC by 24th January 2025, and upon the approval from LOCpurchase their tickets, and submit original paper of air tickets and receiptsto the LOC financial department after arrival in Pyongyang.
3) Entry Deadlines
―Preliminary Entry Deadline : 25th December 2024 (Wednesday) withpersonal best records & CV
― Final Entry Deadline: 14th January2025 (Tuesday) with passport copy and photo (jpg) for AD card
Allathletes submitted their preliminary entry forms (appendix Ⅱ) should indicate the appropriate items in detailsuch as Name and Sex, DOB, Nationality, Passport Type and Number, Expiry Dateof Passport, Occupation, Entry/Exit Country Names for recent 3 months, theCountry where the visa will be accepted and the Rounds and Dates for COVID-19and Monkey Pox Vaccination in the Final Entry Form.
Allathletes should attach their Passport Copies and Photos files (jpg) forAccreditation Cards. when submitting their Final Entry Forms.
4) OtherProfessional Runners
Otheradditional professional runners who are willing to take part in the 31st Pyongyang International Marathon should covertheir travel expenses by themselves and pay USD150 per person a day to theOrganizing Committee, which includes full lodging and accommodation,accreditation, local transportation and first-aid in cash.
5. Prize Money
― The top 3 athletes in each event will be awardedGold, Silver and Bronze medals with Diploma.
― The top 10 Marathoners (42.195km) will be awarded the prize money asbelow.
Note: 15% of the Prize Money will fall in theincome tax.

7. Accreditation
All the participants arerequested to send 1 color photo (size 3×4cm) in jpg file to theOrganizing Committee at the time of final entry. For those who have providedtheir photos, accreditations will be issued at the Hotel upon their arrival inPyongyang on 3rd April 2025.

9. First-aid
2 ambulances will be deployedalong the race course and first-aid service will be provided for the injuries,if any, during the race.
10. Doping Control Tests
Doping control tests on 3 male and 3 female runners including 3 with EPOanalysis shall be carried out at random choice.
11. Visa Arrangements
― The LOC will inform Athlete Representatives aboutissuance of entry visa to DPR Korea for the invited delegations.
― The participants should submit two photo copies,passport and visa application form for issuance of entry visa according to thenotice from LOC.
