China Denounced NATO for Its Act of Disturbing Asia-Pacific Region

Recently, the spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed strong disapproval of and opposition to NATO’s criticism against China in its “Washington Summit Declaration” that China continuously challenges NATO’s interests, security and values.
The spokesperson stated as follows:
It is impossible to cover up the fact that NATO is the legacy of the Cold War and the product of confrontation between camps and the bloc politics, and NATO incites disturbance and confusion wherever it stretches out its tentacles.
The so-called “security” claimed by NATO is created at the cost of undermining security of others and the “security concerns” claimed by NATO is often cooked up by itself.
It is the stereotyped trick of NATO to maintain its existence by plotting “imaginary enemies” and to expand its authority beyond territories.
NATO is extending its long arm over to Asia-Pacific to consolidate the ties with the neighboring countries of China and the allied countries of the U.S. in military and security sectors. Furthermore, it is seeking to violate the interests of China and undermine peace and stability of the Asia-Pacific while taking sides with the “Indo-Pacific Strategy”.
China strongly calls for NATO to dismiss cold war mentality and the old ideas of confrontation between camps and the zero-sum game, and to stop any moves of causing disturbance in the Asia-Pacific region.
China will resolutely safeguard the sovereignty, security and rights to development of the country, the spokesperson concluded.
