Different units in Pyongyang strive to develop solar energy source.
The Rungnado Trade Bureau is increasing power generation capacity based on natural energy sources. By operating over 300 solar panels and a sufficient number of batteries on a normal basis, it produces thousands of kWh of electricity every month, with which it provides power to all equipment, thus saving electricity from the national grid as much as possible.
Meanwhile, by installing overcurrent circuit breakers for preventing overload of inverters and accidents, it keeps electricity consumption within set limit and increases the utilization rate of generated electricity.
The car repair station of the Bureau for Affairs with Diplomatic Corps has introduced a system-parallel solar power generation system and developed its own generating capacity suited to its actual conditions, so as to ensure its smooth management and operation.
It installed solar panels on the rooftop of buildings to produce enough power for illumination as well as lathes, compressors and motors, thus contributing to the electricity production of the country.
The Central Industrial Design Bureau has built solar generating facilities in places with favourable sunshine conditions and operated them well. It uses the generated power in running the welfare service facilities like the canteen.
