Korea, which has been called a land of golden tapestry for its beautiful mountains and limpid rivers from olden times, is rich in natural resources for medical treatment.
These natural resources are effectively used for the promotion of public health.
After the country was liberated from the Japanese military occupation on August 15, 1945, Comrade Kim Il Sung (1912-1994) ensured that the natural resources for medical treatment owned by the Japanese imperialists and pro-Japanese elements before the liberation were all made the properties of the people and sanatoriums, health resorts and rest homes were built in nice places with clear streams and fresh air.
During the fierce Fatherland Liberation War (1950-1953) he made sure that the natural resources were proactively used for the recuperation of wounded soldiers and the promotion of the health of the people and took a benevolent measure of setting up frontline rest camps, the first of their kind in the history of war.
Chairman Kim Jong Il (1942-2011) also saw to it that more sanatoriums were built in the places near hot springs and mineral water springs and solved all problems arising in their management. He learned in detail about how the sanatoriums in the places with a hot spring, mineral water or medicinal mud were operated and ensured that the state took measures for the visitors to receive medical treatment without feeling any inconveniences.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un pays close attention to modernizing the country’s mineral water bottling bases and treatment centres using mineral water. One day in June 2017 he visited the Kangso Mineral Water Bottling Factory and gave instructions on making effective use of Kangso mineral water in protecting and promoting the people’s health.
When he inspected a working people’s sanatorium in Onpho, Kyongsong County, North Hamgyong Province, several years ago, he stressed that the sanatorium associated with the affection of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il for the people should be renovated as a model of a hot spring resort.
Under the socialist system of the country where everything serves the people, excellent sanatoriums and rest homes are built in the places with natural resources for medical treatment, contributing to the promotion of the health of the people.
