The Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory has made many successes by directing efforts to developing new products.
Over the past seven years it has produced over 530 varieties of cosmetics in 160 kinds by waging a struggle to make famous cosmetics with world competitive edge.
Researchers and technicians at the cosmetics institute and the cosmetics analysis institute under the factory developed foundation, lotion and UV cream and other kinds of quality cosmetics with Kaesong Koryo insam, a speciality of the country, as a main raw material.
The factory produces a dying shampoo having dyeing and washing effects in one, a shampoo which has a high effect of preventing dandruff and gives refreshing feeling, and other hair care products. And they all are popular among users.
On the basis of the analysis of medicinal ingredients according to the mixing ratio and functions of raw materials, it has developed and produced functional cosmetics suited to the constitutional characteristics and taste of the Korean people. And it has remarkably increased the variety and kind of perfume, including car perfume, body perfume and hygienic perfume.
It has conducted a brisk mass technological innovation movement, which encouraged the producer masses to come up with many novel ideas. Then it has actively introduced them into production, thus achieving successes in the production of make-up cosmetics like coloured pencils.
The cosmetics produced by the factory have been highly appreciated at a national cosmetics exhibition and other similar exhibitions and registered as February 2 products, with its 30-odd products winning quality certification of the Eurasian Economic Union.
