The12th Sports Contest of the Public Health Sector opened with due ceremony at theTaekwon-Do Palace in Pyongyang on May 2.
Inthe contest, such events as the men’s basketball, the men’s and women’svolleyball, table tennis, Taekwon-Do and tug of war are to be played, dividedinto two groups.
Presentat the opening ceremony were Choe Tong Myong, secretary of the CentralCommittee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned and health workersincluding players.
Atthe ceremony, the speaker called on all the health workers participating in thesports contest to give full play to the high sports techniques they haveacquired through mass sports activities, the organizational ability and unityof the collective and noble sportsmanship.
It wasfollowed by a march-past of each unit and a men's volleyball game between theteams of the Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences Hospital and the Academy ofMedical Sciences.
